Too Much Food Network???

As most of you know, Kennedie's favorite channel on tv is the Food Network. And her favorite cook is hands down, Paula Deen. She has even told me that her baby Breeka (she named her all by herself) has a Paula Deen decorated bedroom.
Well, today her best little friend Miss B came over to play. I overheard them "cooking" in the playroom and just had to grab my notebook and write down some of what I was hearing. The conversation went a little like this...
K..."Can you hand me that well oiled pan? Make sure you add the rosemint (rosemary). I've already dried and salted the nuts. Now I'm adding my chicken filet. I've already picked the roasted beans from my garden. Mix it all with your hands (that's Paula's favorite way to mix stuff). I'm gonna put the roasted blueberry heart shaped cookie in the oven for 30 minutes."
B..."You sure know your food good!"
K..."Thanks!"

Now, how many 4 year olds can "cook" like that??? James is worried that she's been watching too much Food Network! She actually prefers to watch it over cartoons any day.

Quotable Kennedie

I can't tell you how many times I tell funny stories about Kennedie, and people ask me if I wrote that one down. I try to remember to write the great ones down, but life is so hectic...it's hard! So today, I really made an effort to keep a piece of paper handy and scratched some notes of some hilarious things she said.
She was cuddled up on the couch with me and I threw my head back and was laughing. She caught a glimpse of one of my fillings and said, "Mommy, what's that in your mouth? Is that a diamond?!" And of course, I told her, "yes, because Mommy is a real princess and real princesses have diamonds in their teeth." (I was pretty proud of that response!) Well, she came right back with, "it can't be a real diamond OTHERWISE (yes, my 4 year old said the word otherwise) you would break your teeth." otherwise...
She was rambling on and on in the car this afternoon and I was halfway listening. I can't remember exactly what she said, but I asked her how she knew that. She said, "Oh, I saw it on the news."
And finally, we were listening to the Chipmunks soundtrack in the car. She says, "Those Chipmunks! They just crack my world up!"
She brings me such joy and I thank God every day for such a precious gift.

Hello?

London Bridges

I've been noticing lately that Kennedie's jeans are a bit loose in the waist/hiney, but she needs the length, so I buy her pants a little big. I am constantly reminding her to "pull up your britches." Last night, while changing into her pajamas, she tells me that her "bridges" were falling down all day at school. She actually put that together...London Bridges...falling down...she's a hoot!

Kennedie's Quote of the Day

It's 30 minutes until bedtime, and I'm pulling out all the stops. I've played every game, made every silly face and talked in every silly voice I can think of to keep the baby up until 7. The TV is on Food Network, K's favorite channel of all time. I am paying absolutely no attention, UNTIL I hear K say, "Mommy, have you called Jenny yet?"
"What??" (Thinking I just imagined that.)
"Have you called Jenny yet?"
Nope, she said exactly what I thought she did...
