2 short weeks!

Just 2 short weeks...

...yes, I know it's been longer than that since my last post...

...in just 2 short weeks, I'll be lounging poolside with my handsome hubby, drinking a margarita...in CANCUN!!! I booked this trip while he was in Iraq and it seemed so far away then. But not now!!!

I really kept this blog going because it was the easiest way to share pictures and blurbs about the kiddos with James while he was gone. But I've had some requests to post again, so I'll give it another whirl. Here's a few pics of what's been going on over the past month with our handsome Daddy home!

Kennedie danced at MayFest...

We went to Sea World San Antonio...

We went cruising in Daddy's cool truck!

Colton tried dipping in ketchup for the 1st time!

Kennedie's Dance Recital

With Granny and Poppa

At the Annual Fireman's 5K. K's last year to get a ride in the stroller...we were up so late the nite before for recital...notice her hair is still in a bun!

Silly Colton!

This is C's favorite thing to do as the water drains after his bath...he cracks us up!!!

Complete.

OUR HERO IS HOME!!! I cannot even begin to describe the feeling. My husband, my children's daddy, our hero...he is home...safe, where he belongs. We have just been enjoying our precious time together. Colton has taken to Daddy so quickly and it could not make my heart swell any more. Kennedie has yet to let him out of her sight! I woke up this morning to James saying, "Do you hear that?" Nope, I was sleeping. "Colton is in there saying, 'Dadda? Dadda?' Can I go get him?" =) Of course! We all went to take Kennedie to school yesterday, and I went to take Colton from James, so he could walk with Kennedie. C started crying! Talk about breaking my heart! I am just so thankful that we're back to normal...although a new normal...

IT'S ALMOST TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are officially less than 48 hours away from having James home!!! I cannot even begin to describe the different emotions I've felt this week. I guess the best way to describe it is that I've had this incredible weight on my shoulders for the past 10 months. It is all about to be lifted away by my incredible husband. I've had to be the strong one, the only one. My best friend is coming home!
Every time I try to imagine what that moment will be like...the moment that my hero steps off of that plane...I start to cry. I cannot even fathom...
I started to think about the things I've learned over the past 10 months...and this one may just take the cake...
There is a thingamajig under your bathroom sink called a "trap." Yes, I witnessed first hand all of the yummy things hiding in there. K dropped one of her charms down the drain a few weeks ago, so Poppa walked me through taking apart my bathroom sink. I am not known for my strong stomach...enough said.
The arrival time keeps changing, but all I know is that my handsome hubby will be HOME on Saturday! WAHOO!!!!!!!
=)

Brainwashed by a Chipmunk

Yes, brainwashed! She is obsessed with her new Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD and quotes it all day long. This little hand gesture cracks me up!

And, we were watching America's Funniest Videos last night and something on the show caught on fire. She yelled out, "FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!"

Oh my...

And the countdown is on!!!

Well, as of today, I can officially say that my husband will be home NEXT WEEK!!! Now, which day...that's a little sketchy. But, next week!!! I talked to a friend of mine who's hubby is with James tonight. She went out to the base tonight because the 1st group of guys arrived. I told her that she is so strong to be able to go show her support like that, knowing that her husband would not be getting off of that plane. Knowing that she would be watching so many other wives and children greet their Marines. That takes a strong person, a great friend. I'd like to think of myself as strong, but I don't know that I could hold it together for that. She went to show her support and I commend her for that. She called me on her way home and told me how wonderful it was to see their homecoming. It made it all so much more real to me. Since having Colton last March, I have not had any trouble falling asleep. Well, tonight (and I'm afraid the next week and half) was a totally different story. I was tossing and turning, watching stuff I've DVR'd (the best invention EVER) and now I have such terrible nausea. I took nausea meds over an hour ago and they're just not working. I'm going to be a mess tomorrow. Looks like I'll be making an early morning trip to Starbucks!
