At the Zoo

We took advantage of another pretty day and took the kids to the Fort Worth zoo today. We haven't been in ages (even though we have passes) because the weather just hasn't cooperated. The kids had such a great time! They are at such fun ages! And I got to play with my new camera...only 116 pictures...all from the zoo! James thinks it's a bit extreme...but I DID delete the bad ones as I went!

Here's my big girl trying to get a glance at the monkeys. (don't tell her that thing takes money!)

She was making faces back at the frilled lizards!
She does kinda look like one with her hands that way! ha!

This is one of my favorites! You can see his reflection so clearly BUT can you see the alligator looking back at him?!

This kid cracks me up! When we got to the kangaroos, I guess he couldn't see clearly through the metal fencing, so he opted for this position so that he could see right between the little crack!

In the aviary...probably the biggest hit of the day!

And just a few random animals...

Wedding Reception Fun

We were invited to our dear friends Tom & Kim's wedding reception last night. It was so beautiful and such a great time!

Rainforest & Clouds

{Let me preface this...what is UP with blogger? Does anyone else have this problem? I set up my post with the pictures...everything looks great. Then I either hit publish or preview and it looks COMPLETELY different! The pictures are everywhere they aren't supposed to be and my text is all catty-wompus (how DO you spell that anyway?)! So, is it just me? Sorry if this one looks crazy, but I give up! You'll get the jist!}

Ok, here's another random picture post...I know...you're surprised...
The kids and I met Candice and her girls at Grapevine Mills this week. We shopped (it was like a ghost town...almost nobody else there...and it was Heaven) then took the kids to Rainforest Cafe. The 2 littlest weren't really all that sure, especially when they put us in the booth next to the loud gorillas! Here's a few from our day...

Miss A was overjoyed at the mention of taking C's hand! Look at her sweet face!

Then I asked Colton if he wanted to hug A...and he went in for a KISS! I am in for it!

Since it's been rainy, we took K to our gym and practiced hitting and catching on the indoor turf. This is the only picture I was able to take before someone ran in and said I couldn't take pictures inside the facility. Really? I understand not taking pics when people are working out...but when it's just me and my children on the turf...no one else in sight? Whatever. I got a cute pic of C out of it.
His 1st popsicle...

And finally, the breathtaking clouds over our house just before a storm...

My Little Tee Ball Player

Kennedie has had a couple of tee ball practices now. She takes a little time to warm up to the other girls and the coach, but then she's really trying hard! Here's a few from practice a few days ago.

KD and her little friend, K.

I'm sure they were planning their next big play..

Of course I had to get one of sweet Brother Bear...

And this last one...needs a little explaining! We started noticing that every time KD would run the bases, she had a little skip thing going on. After a few times, it was really getting funny! One of the Dad's said, "well she takes dance, right?" It didn't occur to me...but she was doing one of the moves she's been doing for years in dance! The only thing she was missing was putting her arms straight out to the side! Such a graceful girly girl!

Prayers for Stellan

I have been following MckMama's blog for a long time now. She is an amazing writer, mother, wife...just an all around great person! www.mycharmingkids.net
Her son Stellan, who is now 4 months old, was diagnosed in utero with heart failure. She was told that he would surely die. He was born full term, perfectly healthy...perfectly healed. A few days ago, he had a cold and was having a little trouble breathing. Since he had just had RSV a few weeks ago, she took him to the ER to check his breathing, etc. Things quickly went from bad to worse. It appears that he has SVT...the heart failure that we had all thought was non-existent. His poor little heart is in and out of V-Tach, an extremely deadly heart rhythm. Please pray...
I can't help but think what MckMama must have been thinking 1 week ago. Here she was with her 4 MSC (Many Small Children, as she says) all healthy, happy, and perfect as could be. Times like this just make me want to just cuddle my babies and never let go. I am so very thankful for each precious day I have with my family. Please, go tell those in your life that you love them. And say a prayer for this precious baby boy.

Obsess Much?

A few weeks ago, my friend Karman came over and took some family pictures at our house with her fancy, shmancy camera. I LOVED the prints and they came out sooo good! So a few days ago I asked her to borrow it for a day to see if I could even understand how to use it. Turns out that it was very user friendly and I took some great shots! So, I convinced James to go look at cameras with me yesterday. And I am the proud new owner of my very own fancy, shmancy camera! Here's a few I took yesterday...some from our backyard and some from the park...

Disney, Park & Cutie-Patooties

Last week Kennedie and I went with our friends Ally and Ms. Ashley to see Disney On Ice. It was so nice to have this special time with the big sisters!

KD & Mommy

Can you guess Kennedie's FAVORITE part?? Ariel, of course!

The next day, we met my college friend Sarah and her twin boys at the neatest park...we'll defintely be going back! The kids loved looking at the fish pond and all the beautiful tulips were in bloom.

My desperate attempt to get a picture of them in front of the tulips...

And here's a few random ones...{it just wouldn't be a post if I didn't have some randome photos of my cutie-patooties!}

Mommy and her silly boy!
