So, it was one of those nights that Daddy was at work, Mommy was beat (what else is new?!) and the kids were hungry. I offered K a pizza Lunchable (usually saved for water park lunches, but it doesn't look like we're going to make it back out there before they close for the season) and she was super excited to be getting it for dinner. So her and brother were eating at the table and I was cleaning up the kitchen. She is such a chatterbox, I swear my ears hurt by the end of the day. I really wasn't paying attention, until I heard "you're tastebuds are going to love this one!" I stopped, and listened, not letting on to her that I was listening, afraid she'd stop. Turns out, she was pretending to host her own cooking show. I've mentioned before that K is a HUGE Food Network fan. She'd much rather watch that than anything else. She was working on stacking 2 pizza crusts, with sauce and cheese in the middle, teaching the viewers at home (i.e. brother) just how to do it. I started jotting down the things she was saying...
*This one is out of this world!
*Add your parmesean chesse and roasted garlic.
*Your tastebuds will love all of the seasonings.
*Most important thing to remember with the sauce- you can make smiley faces or hearts with them!
She even went to COMMERCIAL BREAK!!! I was dying! She promised me that she'd host another show for me this weekend and let me video tape her doing it, so stay tuned.
After dinner, she and C were in the playroom "cooking." It's now also his favorite thing to do! I was in the kitchen, writing everything she said as fast as I could...listen to these!
*Set that back on the warmer for now.
*Thank you, brother, for sqeezing the fresh lime. (He's quite the assistant! ;))
*Just rub the seasoning on with your hands.
*Throw the fresh veggies in the boiling water.
*Now go to the sink to wash all that goo from the eggs off your hands.
*Colton was making the bread. Looks nice and brown- perfect!
*Mommy, when I'm a Mommy, instead of cooking with my pretend food, I get to have REAL food!
After all of this, you'd think that she sees me preparing gourmet meals every day! I rarely cook, but really should do more of it since she enjoys it so much.

oh, i think i love the food network as much as K does!!! that is way too funny that she took a commercial break!
Kirstyn loves to teach her little brother things too. It cracks me up listening to her being the 'little mommy'! I need to be writing all of the stuff she is saying down... what a great idea!
oh and I'm with you...my ears hurt at the end of some days!
